If you are planning to let your children attend Bridgeway Academy homeschool, please read this review first and then make your decision.
For students in kindergarten through grade 12, Bridgeway Academy offers an accredited distance education program. Bridgeway advertises its personalized learning bundles and provides a range of levels of personalization. Remedial, honors, AP, and Dual Enrollment classes are all offered at the high school level.
Here is a review of them and our interactions with them.
About Bridgeway Academy
With the exception of their customized Independent Study package, Bridgeway Academy is an entirely accredited homeschooling program that includes high school transcripts that colleges will accept. They provide parents with a variety of homeschooling options to consider. At its broadest division, parents can choose either their “Homeschool Courses and Kits” or their “Private Homeschool Academy.”
The majority of homeschooling kits include collections of online or textbook courses that are taught by the parent with supplementary instruction manuals. In contrast, the academy provides access to an advisor for parents and students at each stage of the process.
Once parents select one of those major categories, the options are broken down further into program types with notable differences.
Pros
- Professional Academic Guidance
- Available Support
- Full Accreditation
- Avoids Learning Gaps
- Caters to different learning styles
Cons
- Cost (anywhere from $400 – $5,000)
- Virtual Academy may not technically be considered “homeschooling.”
- limits the availability of co-ops.
- Custom packages cannot be accredited without also purchasing a Support package.
Homeschool Courses and Kits
Numerous designs are available for these homeschooling kits. Bridgeway provides curriculum programs via textbooks and online courses, with the choice of self-paced online classes or live classes.
Online Options
- Self-Paced. With this choice, students can log in whenever it’s convenient for them and move through the material independently. Considering the material is available online, students can access it from any computer or tablet with an Internet connection.
- Live. A student who enrolls in live online classes logs on at predetermined times to learn from a teacher and classmates in real-time.
Non-Online Options
- Multi-Subject Grade Kits. This program offers a full school year’s worth of curriculum for every subject.
- custom independent study The custom option starts with professional consultation for a thorough examination of graduation and career goals, and possibly even placement testing. With your particular objectives in mind, they will provide a plan for the credits required to graduate. Whether it’s all core subjects or a combination of core and electives, every year will always have five full credits.
Since it is not considered “full enrollment,” the custom packages are not accredited, but with the purchase of the Members of the Support, package will continue to be able to participate in accreditation, record-keeping, and year-round support.
Private Homeschool Academy
Every program within the Academy is considered a “Total Care” package, ensuring that every option will provide full coverage of subjects and support for both students and parents. The degree of support and connection offered to members distinguishes the Total Care homeschooling programs from the homeschooling kits.
With the academy, each student has a personal academic advisor to help them at every turn. The academy also connects parents and students with other homeschooling families for communication and opportunities for activities.
A great part of the academy is that they offer a particular option called “HOPE for Learning Disabilities.” With the help of this option, students with learning disabilities can access a full curriculum. Bridgeway will consult with your family to determine the best options.
Pre-K
Preschoolers can participate in the academy’s Total Care program, which introduces them to a range of subjects from a biblical perspective. The curriculum includes practical exercises and lessons.
Kindergarten
Bridgeway’s Total Care kindergarten program includes four core subjects: social studies, language arts, science, and math. Phonics, flashcards, coloring pages, and other activities will all be covered by the students.
Elementary
- Total Care Textbook curriculum
- Total Care blended curriculum (a mix of textbook and online resources)
- HOPE for Learning Disabilities
Middle School
- Total Care Textbook
- Total Care Online (self-paced)
- Bridgeway provides students with a virtual academy beginning in middle school, which is called Elite Total Care. Students in this program will have a different instructor for each course.
- HOPE for Learning Disabilities
High School
- Total Care Textbook
- Total Care Online (Self-Paced)
- Live Total Care Online. This option does not involve a virtual academy; rather, your child can participate in real-time online classes with other students, similar to those provided with homeschooling supplies.
Customers Reviews
All in all, the reviews of Bridgeway Academy homeschool are positive, one student said “Homeschooling at Bridgeway is something I really enjoy. Pleasant and always willing to help, my advisor. For students who learn at their own pace, like me, the curriculum is adaptable and enjoyable. “
Others, on the other hand, did not notice any differences between Bridgeway Academy and other homeschools. One user said on the Internet, “Such a shame, just different websites and the same as many others. I am a full-time athlete, which is why I attend home school, and they keep adding more and more work.”
Conclusion: Bridgeway Academy Homeschool
I strongly urge you to take this school into consideration, whether you are an experienced homeschooler or a novice who is hesitant to get started on your own.
We appreciate their adaptability because it allowed us to modify an accredited program to fit M. and not the other way around, the way we are treated by our advisory teacher with so much care and dedication and the freedom of schedule and curriculum while still being held accountable.
In my opinion, Bridgeway Academy is the best option for homeschoolers who want the most flexibility and an accredited curriculum.
